He was superb when he first joined no one gave Murray a second thought.
I thought so too. Scored some terrific goals, looked a proper menace at Championship level, never recovered from that injury

His ball control was non league imo but he did run around as though he was on Duracell batteries. Everyone likes a trier. Scored a cracker of a goal against Burnley (?), also missed a sitter for a late equaliser in the Great Escape game against the same team under Smug when we were down to 9 at the Amex against them.

Following on from the recent discussion about Ted Maybank's post-football career choice in flooring being the worst possible choice (given his chronically injured knees), I note that former Albion labrador-chasing-a-balloon-impressionist' CMS, has a possibly even less suitable new career.

Have a GUESS...

Yep.

I don't think I'd been more excited about a signing since Bobby signed permanently first time round.

He'd scored a bucket load of goals for Peterboro, we'd beating off Leicester and West Ham and we spent at the time an awful lot of money on him.

Then I saw him play. Was obvious from day one he wasn't much cop and we'd been sold a dud. Still people liked him because he ran around a lot and had shiny hair.

Has to be up there as pound for pound one of our worst signings ever when you bring everything into account. Locadia probably pips him for that crown now given the figure he cost. Jahanbask (sp) or Percy may also have a claim.

Really?

He scored NINE goals in 45 Championship appearances, in that first season.
I assume he’s referring to his first 9 games, he had 5 goals and 4 assists. A decent return at that stage.

Murray also had a poor return that year at Palace. 6 goals and 5 assists for the whole season.

Ansu Fati will be entering that chat as well. £7 million and he hasn’t even managed 1,000 minutes of football for us.

He’s cost us around £645,000 per 90 minutes of football he’s played. 😳

In fairness to CMS, I don’t remember him missing loads and loads of chances for us. I remember him running around like he didn’t have a Scooby what he was supposed to be doing - but his finishing was low down on the list of problems.

He was superb for Peterborough and banged them in from all angles.

To be fair, he did get off to a good start. He scored 5 and assisted 4 in his first 10 games (W5, D2, L3). It just tailed off somewhat after...

I have to admit, I thought he'd gone all David Icke post retirement. Maybe he's taken off the tinfoil hat

My lasting memory of CMS is how gutted he looked after Ryan Harley scored against Barnsley at the Amex in 2011. I seem to remember how hard CMS had worked that game and couldn’t quite put his chance away which Harley subsequently did. CMS just stared forlornly into the North Stand as the other players congratulated Harley. I expect it hurt that such a lazy player had scored instead of him.

For those too young to have seen him, go to your local park and watch an owner throwing a ball for their Golden Retriever to chase.

That was what it was like watching CMS, especially the bit where the dog runs past the ball, skids and chases back to the ball.

Has one of the most accurate well thought out songs for a BHAFC player except for scoring goals for fun part unfortunately
