This is a bit of info reported in hindsight regarding the Peterborough striker. I have no idea whether he has moved today or been rumoured to do so but I was today reliaby informed that earlier on in January we bid £750,000 for the player plus £250,000 if we got promoted. The deal was scuppered by Darren Ferguson and the media attention surrounding him on the day we played them (the day he was due for a medical) and thus followed a barrage of goals from our trio of strikers.

I have been told this by a very reliable "SAUCE" so don't doubt it, yet a little dissapionted as would have liked to have seen him in an Albion shirt. Just thought I would let you know and maybe we may make a late attempt to sign him?

Yes I am bullshiting to boost my credibility, exactly what I am doing with about 5 hours of the transfer window to go, perfect timing! I've only been posting on here for two days so I must post a look at me thread like this right now! This has happened. The bid was made and the return of Ferguson has scuppered it. I am merely stating that there WAS interest and we MAY go back in for him at a later stage when Murray decideds to have another "baybe" and Barness consistently starts to squander chances, or with a bit of time still to go, maybe a late bid.

I heard this name mentioned from someone I trust, christmas eve. Never actually posted it on here as did not want all the crap that goes with it.....When his name has appeared I have dropped hints that i have heard something. I believe what you have said but can't see it happening now. As long as we keep all our players through this period, with the added bonus of signing Noone, I think this has been a very good transfer window for us. I like the squad we have and believe it is good enough for us to win promotion ahead of Falmer in the summer where I feel we will need to re-assess and strenghten further if we are sucessful in gaining championship status.

I think you misconstrued what I meant, I certainly wasn't inferring that you are a bullshitter. In fairness would be a great signing for the club.

Mackail-Smith DID actually have a medical after the game at Withdean. However it was conducted by an independent doctor so would not have necessarily been linked to a move to us.

this makes sense as near the begining of the transfer window someone who knew ray bloom i think his name is, said that gus was trying to sign three top league one prospects. noone being one, ryan harley who we missed out on and maybe CMS was the last one?
