That's the rub, if the guy wasn't all mouth and was a proper boy, he would have got to Bellamy in a nanosecond, dropped him, and then got nicked. But these well 'ards are all the same - get on the pitch, give it the large one, then get nicked in a "hold me back or I'm gonna kill him!" kind of way.

A proper fighter would have got on there fast and stealthy, got to his target before getting picked off, and given Bellamy the good news in double quick time. The ultimate shame in this case is then to have the tattooed fuckwit Welsh midget stick one on you as you're being held back (which probably was your intention the minute you went over the hoarding).

I would be interested to see the whole incident. The way it was cut on match of the day made it appear that Bellamy ran 20 yeards in order to slap the pitch invader for no particular reason other that the fact he was on the pitch. Judging by some of the comments on this thread, that quite probably wasn't the case.

I must say that I was impressed by Rooney's reaction. A couple of years ago it would have been near-impossible to think that Rooney would get involved in an on-pitch squabble to diffuse the stuation.
