Craig Bellamy - Uh oh!

Apparently the Manchester United fan managed to get on to the pitch and confront Bellamy.

I guess the picture could be some kind of optical illusion. Perhaps a gentle 'push' with his fist? Bellamy's body position doesn't look to be swinging, but it looks pretty bad.

Mark Hughes stated: "I seem to recall Brian Clough clipping someone around the ear and he was lauded as a national hero. Maybe it will be the same case with Craig but I doubt it."

I happen to agree. Good few games he'll be missing I think.

He didn't confront Bellamy. Bellamy took it upon himself to jog 20 yards & give said fan a shove in the mush while 2 Hi-Vis Goons had done their duty & apprehended said invader. What a Hero, eh? :tosser:

Sums Bellamy up, always been a bit unpredictable to say the least and usually goes off the rails very quickly.

I don't know, it wasn't shown at the time on Sky either. I thought the OP may have read somewhere that the fan confronted Bellamy first up.

Just read it was "on-pitch". So assumed the fan had got onto the pitch to confront him. I guess Bellamy could have started the arguement with the fan whilst in the stand causing him to come onto the pitch.

Infact; "after the game it is reported that a pitch invader attempted to confront Bellamy and proked a retaliation from the former Liverpool player."

He did confront Bellamy actually and No-one has yet has mentioned that if the prick hadn't taken it upon himself to run on the pitch then this wouldn't have happened...

How intriguing (ish)! Have we ever had a Bellamygate before?

It's a shame the stewards even got involved - the guy ran on, threw something in Bellamy's direction then obviously said something.

That has no place in football and I would hope the FA do nothing but a stearn "telling off".

I, thank you. Bellamy is an easy target after his previous misdemeanours. I challenge anyone that has criticised him to turn a blind eye if they ever come across the same situation. Despite being a pacifist, I was forced into action to rescue a friend. I ended up being rugby tackled by a steward, who later apologised and offered me free entry to the Time Piece (exeter) for six weeks. Reward or punishment?

Fact is, that goon should not have been on the pitch and he deserved everything he got.

Would everyone be so scathing of the players that came to Beeney's defence against Millwall or the guys that tried to have a go at McGleish or Ray Wilkins? The Man Utd gimp deserved everything he got. Fair game.

Allegedly the fan spat at Bellamy, coins were thrown at Tevez towards the end, an object launched from the crowd hit Garrido in the head and left him hurt, several fans ran onto the pitch, but this will all be forgotten as its Manure.

I'm sorry but the second that bloke ran on the pitch, for me he pretty much forfeits his rights. Shouldn't be there, Bellamy shouldn't have punched him but I certainly don't blame him for it.

100% agree. Hopefully nothing too stern will be handed out to Bellamy on the grounds of his past reputation.

Well, all I can say is well done Craig Bellamy, that red prick (no doubt from Portsmouth or somewhere nearby) had no right to be on the pitch and for once in his life Bellamy actually did the right thing, just a shame he didn't whack that Ferdinand twat too... I hope Bellamy doesn't get punished and I hope that 'Manc' prick gets banned for life, he's probably the same gump that threw a coin at Garrido's head, further proof that Man Utd fans are SCUM.

Shouldn't have been on the pitch and hopefully will get banned for life. However, it looked on TV like Bellamy went over and got involved. He could easily have just stayed out of it - but chose not to. Bit of a fool to himself really - with his reputation, just stay away. The pitch invader was already in the hands of the stewards.
