Balmy is a bit of a shock playing for us - he was being chased by Arsenal/Spurs/Valencia a year or so ago. Played for Le Havre and I'm guessing that we must be trying to sign him for a fee as I wouldn't have thought they would just let him go

The last 2 players we signed from Le Havre , Martot and Bertin didn't exactly set the world alight , IMO the only decent player we acquired from them was Johnny Byrne.

Alexis Bertin was absolutely fantastic, it's such a shame he didn't sign permanently. Martot wasn't that bad either, weighed in with a few goals here and there.

they were among our better players at the time, Bertin in particular I recall being mourned as a loss when he left - I suspect this lad though may be a case of a youngster with talent at 16 that hasn't quite developed as it might have done by 18. He hasn't broken into the Le Havre first team and based on reports from a year or so ago you would have expected him to.
