Not looking likely now unless the tail wags. When is the next bonus point due as I am not au fait with the scoring system

They have full bowling points for 9 wickets under 110 overs - 3 points

We have 4 batting points for getting 350 runs - we have 14 overs to get 50 runs with two tail enders to get final batting point

Interesting. Let's hope it pays off and we can get a couple of wickets.

We have scored the highest opening innings total so far in all the games (only Surrey could overtake us now) ~most sides struggling to get over 250

Clever move really, not fun being put in to bat at twilight

Listening to John lees earlier he had the Sussex and Surrey matches muddled, giving sussex's score with contributions from Surrey batsmen. He didn't sound very well.

He stated he has been up since 5AM, and that he is only doing today as Adrian was at Glastonbury (so he may be as goofy tomorrow depending on how much sleep he got)

This just posted on the BBC site - On the left pink ball after 80 overs. On the right new one 5 balls old. They are said to be made the same but the red ball doesn't scuff up so early. Worth giving Briggs the ball for an over at the end.

Should have batted on, sounds like Jordan bowled too short. \

Still lets hope the rain stays away tomorrow.

Sussex 358/9d
Gloucestershire 31/0 (7.0 ov)

Gloucestershire trail by 327 runs with 10 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Rain Delay, brave new cricket world can't alter British Climate shock horror... [emoji38]ol:
The irony is that if we were playing the standard hours of play we would at least have had a couple of hours today!

Play and they need to bowl 56 overs tonight.

Sounds like a comical mess up by Sussex of a failed run out. Batmen fell over and someone shyed at the stumps leading to buzzers.

Could have rolled it over.

Not much going on with this game, and not a huge amount of play in the England Lions game either.

But enough for Garton to remove South Africa's opener, Elgar. Looking forward to having him back playing for Sussex.

Don't want to start another cricket thread but the Sri Lankan player, Atapattumudiyanselage Chamari Jayangani, has just scored 69% of her side's total - her 178* is the highest score anyone has ever made against Australia.

I'm glad she's just known as Atapattu though ...
