Could UKIP win the General Election ?

My source is radio 5 this evening. I'm sticking to eu migration here as it is about ukip. If we have a European minimum wage set at say £8 then the incentive to travel to a different country would be somewhat curtailed. It would have to be enforced but taking the profits out of migration would ease the issue

Well let's face it by people like you keep starting up endless anti UKIP threads, and by quoting half truths and mainly scaremongering, it's surprising that UKIP have risen in the polls and won a couple of seats.
All the time the other parties are smearing them, they seem to be getting stronger, why is that eh.
How sad to deflect the useless and cowardly way that the Labour council deceived and hid the truth in Rotherham......by blaming UKIP.....nice deflection eh.
Erm I have never started a ukip thread here or anywhere for that matter. It's not scaremongering to quote ukip policy even though they change them every two seconds. Instead of blaming labour for Rotherham you could blame the sick ****s who carried out the attacks.

Who blamed UKIP about Rotherham?
you asked where they had used this case for political gain, in an incredulous manner. The father of the abused girls is accusing UKIP of using BNP tactics for political gain.
Farage is defending it.

Sounds like (s)he's in denial. Can't face the inconvenient truth that UKIP have stopped so low as to take advantage of such a situation.

I never said that you started a ukip thread, i said "Well let's face it by people like you keep starting up endless anti UKIP threads".
If you read my posts over a long period you would know that i do blame the sick people who carried out the attacks, the same sick people carrying them out in over 50 different cases countrywide.
Labour knew and ignored and covered up the facts, so they should take a lot of blame, sorry that it is not ukip to blame, only they are to blame for shaming this mob.

Thanks you for your response and clarification - appreciated. I appreciate that Boston is largely about EU immigration, but the whole issue with immigration goes far deeper. I wonder what Radio 5's source was - it just doesn't ring true. If there was such a minimum wage, whilst doubtless highly desirable socially for the lower paid, this would have to be agreed by member countries. Do you seriously think that countries such as Greece, Romania and Bulgaria could afford to do it, when government coffers, particularly in Greece are so low. How would it be enforced? If they couldn't afford it, then there is no point in enforcing it. With respect, this is rather too simplistic.

In other news Tory backed big business avoid 75 billion per year in taxes. And still some divs will vote conservative

Good point, and which institution is it that creates an environment that enables these corporates to avoid tax?

And who is now the most powerful man in that institution?

http://www.theguardian.com/world/20...-jean-claude-juncker-luxembourg-tax-avoidance

Did the EU citizenry get a chance to elect this individual?

Care to guess what the constituency was?

The real divs are those that support an institution that doesn't even allow you to vote on the most powerful people that govern it............you couldn't make it up.

Absolutely it would be a nightmare at the start and inflation would also be an issue. I used a emw as a rather clumsy tool to suggest that if we raised living standards across the whole of the EU as well as working conditions and pay the UK looks a lot less attractive as a destination.

The EU president is voted in by the Eu parliament wich is voted in by your MEP. Not ours obviously because the only thing ukip vote on is there expenses and to block anti poaching legislation

What exactly is people like me?

Well you are pretty vociferous and very anti UKIP, fair enough.
Do you not think it is a bit bizarre/sad to have thread after thread about a party that has two seats (in fact the threads started pre a seat being won) and over and over views about a party that has never been in power, has not put into practice any of the things they stand for, or indeed things that many dream they stand for........meanwhile the parties that have been running (ruining) this country for decades seem to get very little nasty threads.
Sad that so many are fearful of something that has not happened, yet ignore things that have happened.....as people like you SEEM to do.

Thanks you for your response. Yes, this would be the ideal.

Spot on. I actually wonder if most of the EU supporters actually realise this, would not surprise me if they were blind to this fact as well.

No, you are wrong.

The Head of the EU Parliament is voted in by the Parliament, but the EU Parliament has no authority to vote for or reject the EU President or the President of the EU Commission.

So, back to the question, what is the constituency that decides who are the most powerful people in the EU?

I find all politics fascinating. So I'm not bothered to much about thread count on that subject. You (Ukip) are making a lot of noise at the moment so you have to except there will be a massive amount of scrutiny. I am not blind to the damage that the Westminster round about does to this country. I can genuinely say that all political parties need to stop working on the short term and Start earning our trust and governing for us rather than the banks and big business. There are massive problems with the EU but I absolutely believe that on balance we are better off in than out. I also struggle to understand when the greens offer an in out referenda and have better social policy ukip get votes
