I would argue that it is a strong possibility. Of the teams below them, only Notts County are lower in current form over the last 6 games. The three teams below them have games in hand and can go above them if they win them (big 'if'). Walsall would then need to gain 4 pts. Over the last 6 games, Walsall have 9pts and Sheff Wed only 4 so on that basis, they can quite easily catch them.
Mandaric would deserve it bearing in mind the mess he left Portsmouth in. Also, would be interesting to see how much he would lose as he has already bleated on about losing money by not being promoted. It will be even more if they get relegated!!!
