The inventors of calculators, and spread sheets.

Without these mental arithmetic standards would be far higher than they are now.

Other. I blame the people who say 'should of'. Surely they know it's the wrong word?

Oh, who am I kidding. There's still loads of people who sing "Going up TO win the Cup" even though it makes absolutely no sense. Got no chance of them realising it should be HAVE not OF.

I always interpreted that line as "going up to (Wembley to) win the cup"

I blame the individual. If you cannot spell, you can always learn how to.

Teacher trainers in the 1970s prioritised creativity over accuracy "which can be taught later" (except that it never was).

Creativity certainly isn’t a priority now though. Do you think this will lead to improvement?

Fair enough. I expect some pillock will be along soon blaming Brexit.............................

No they won’t. We all know Brexit is a symptom of the illiterate, not the cause.

Absolutely disagree. If an applicant sends me a CV/cover letter with spelling or grammar errors (or platitudes, cliches or unintended bathos), it goes straight in the bin. My 'real world' is a hard and unforgiving world.

Were you in the wine lake when you wrote that Doc? punk:

No they won’t. We all know Brexit is a symptom of the illiterate, not the cause.

Obviously the word "all" has a different meaning in Germany. Come to think of it, so does "know", judging by the way you (mis)use it.

I must admit it has German efficiency stamped all over it though. "all" is much more quick and easy to type than 'some desperate remoaners', and "know" is much shorter than 'try to pretend'. Some sort of misunderstood text-speak, I expect. Bless.............

The difference between “invite” and “invitation”

We “was” rather than “were”

Etc etc etc etc

Actually, I don’t have the energy for this... so **** them

If they can’t talk properly, they won’t get jobs.

Teachers are to blame. Yet, the first thing they do when they meet you is announce 'I'm a teacher' as if it validates everthing they say. Even the woman in front of me in Tesco last night to the cashier. 'Well I'm a teacher blah blah'. It's their job to correct things like 'would of'.
