This is a nice glimpse into the future when Lewes Road will be one bike lane, one bus and one for everything else. Total chaos and quite annoying that they were laying a nice new surface where the central 'islands' were yet seem to have no funds for fixing pot holes on so many of the roads on estates.

What exactly is the point of taking lanes away to create big central islands? Is the central bit going to be parking or just a big chuck of pavement? If the latter, how exactly are the local shops along there going to ever get any passing trade at all if everyone has to crawl past on one lane but no-one can stop?

It was flippin' ridiculous seeing that hair-brained scheme starting to take effect today...and look at the effect it had! Whoever had that idea should be sacked.
