just wondering if anything in the rulebook, about overturning crap referees..?
they do go on about fair play etc..?
they do go on about fair play etc..?
Desperate by name...!
In answer to the question, I believe the answer is only if the refereeing decision proved decisive in the game. Therefore no, as Germany won by 3 clear goals.
This came up at the last World Cup with Graham Poll's three card trick. Apparently had the player who should have been sent off scored or got an assist, a rematch could have taken place (from memory).
Not true... the score was 2-1 at the time so it did prove decisive.... if England had later equalised then it would not have been decisive as the balance would have been tipped anyway.... England were forced to change tactics in the second half to continue chasing the game and therefore left themselves open at the back.
As to a reply ...no... it just isn't practical.... for this game we just have to move on but it's now time for players ,managers and referees alike to start turning on FİFA to change the rules. How can you have fairplay when the game isn't fair?
I agree it was decisive too, but my point is that it has to be the actual decisive moment that affects the result (example in case being player recieving two yellows and going on to score). Had the game finished 2-2, and Germany won on penalties, we may have had a case. Again, this was as the appeal rules were reported during the last world cup - they may have changed since.
I also agree a rematch isn't practical - I was only trying to clarify what was reported last time, not give opinion.
One reason we can't have a replay: Ireland.
THey didn't get one, and teh handball was a decisive decision. Why should we?
I'm clutching at straws but Blatter (THE FAT ****) cannot keep his head underground much longer with regards to technology.
