With respect to Falmer: "I am completely in favour of this development, which is supported by so many people, and will be an exciting community asset"

As someone who has only ever voted Lib Dem, though never having been a politician, I agree wholeheartedly with that statement.

The full text of the letter received today from my MP (David Heath, LibDem, Somerton & Frome):

Thank you very much for the picturesque postcard, supporting the development
of a community stadium next to Falmer Railway Station, as proposed by
Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

I am completely in favour of this development, which is supported by so many
people, and will be an exciting community asset. I would certainly support
the MP, should he wish to bring this before the House of Commons. [I assume
he means Peter Pike, sponsor of EDM 889?]

I do wish everyone success with this project and hope that it will prove to
be an example of sustainable development of community facilities, followed
by other organisations nationally.

That was a much better reply than I go from my old MP back in Huddersfield (read the EDM thread)
The stupid thing is the next door MP for Batley & Spen has signed it.

Not all Lib Dem MPs are David Bellotti clones.

Thank the lord. But there is a worrying amount of evidence to the contrary:

- Norman Baker
- Only 5 LibDems have supported the EDM

David Heath's letter has somewhat restored their tarnished image in my mind, but they need to do more!
