Listen to his comments on the audio bit - said Kitson says he pushed El-Abd in chest...

Also very funny that he blatantly hadn't done his homework on who the ref was and got found out by the reporter :bigwave:

And to think he was in the running to be our manager at one time.

Gus has more class in his little finger than that man. When you lose on the cup you have to give credit to the other team, particularly when you have been totally outclassed. But he just makes excuses. Very sad.

Did u notice he didn't have a clue who the ref was and hadn't done his homework. Hence why he was reacting angrily to the reporter asking if the players should have been more wary of the ref with his previous track recored of cards... Both the reporter and Cotterill blatantly knew he hadn't done the homework :)

Thought he was about to lose it with the reporter at one point.

He said that if this referee is going to book players everytime they start yapping then he will never referee in the Premier.

Might i suggest Mr Cotterill that if you dont do your homework on the referee (as the reporter was suggesting) and stop your
players from yapping at the referees, then maybe that is one of the reasons you are not managing in the Premier,

What was that nonsense about him (the ref) not surviving in the premier league if he booked players for having a pop at him? Would h pack up and leave the ame bcause he has to book people so frequently? Of course he wouldn't, he would get a reputation for not allowing dissent, and maybe if one ref started taking that stand more would follow suit and player behaviour would improve.

Thought the ref delt with the Portsmouth players superbly actually. They had totally lost their heads and he brought it under control well by taking no nonsense and sorting it out straight away.

Cotterill is a decent guy in my book, of course he's pissed off at losing. It's a shame his players couldn't keep their traps shut though!

And that muppet linesman from the Bournemouth game kept a low profile today.

Got a nice reception from the South Stand before the game only to lose the plot completely during the first half and witness a woeful display from his players. Charlie should have flattened him

Abort, retry, fail
The referee was acting in accordance to the law of the game regarding dissent and backchat. If managers are not willing to instill an acceptable behaviour in their players then it is up to the referee to do so. Would Mr Cotterill like some Stilton with his grapes?

With suspension and such, will the FA accept "if we play these two it triggers a contract clause" as a reason not to include them if portsmouth have trouble fielding a team for a game and want to move it?

I mean if next saturday Pompy have no new signings and pick up a couple of injuries can they ask for the game to be postponed on the basis that they can't field enough players, even though the only reason they won't include two players (sorry, forgotten their names) is that they don't want to?

Don't see why: technically you could start a game with eight players if you had to. Besides, it's their own shit financial management tha has put them in this situation with Brown etc. What goes around, comes around...

Apparently they don't have a reserve team: can't afford it :lolol:

(can still afford Kitson & Lawrence though...)

they have a youth team with 4 over-age players in it - players who would otherwise be in the first team squad but their wages would take the total over the cap agreed with the FL as part of their CVA. There is neither reason nor excuse that I can see to not use youth players but in the meanwhile they will be desperately trying to move the 2 renegades on
