Hi folks

Anyone been here and if so any views on the area, good, bad or ugly?

We have been to the south of the island a couple of years ago and are looking at places for the week before Easter.

Cheers

It’s windy in Teguise.

Years ago you could pretty much guarantee decent weather anytime of year in Lanzarote. These days it seems it can be very hit and miss up until May.

Thanks guys...funnily enoug there is a lot about wind surfing around there, which made us think it was a windy place. Didn't really get that in playa Blanca a couple of years ago

Went there years ago, hotels were a bit tacky and full of northerners.
A mate went at Christmas and it seems nothing has changed.

It's nice but very windy. There's a great Rangers bar , very friendly and welcoming and an absolutely superb Chinese restaurant, with a funny name that I have forgotten but sounds rude. Excellent food for about 7 Euros.

Went to Costa Teguise years ago - it was fine. It's a purpose built resort so there's little "charm". There's a huge market every week and quite decent walks around the area. Prefer Playa Blanca though - we had a great week there in March last year with 20 degrees every day - doesn't sound too hot but we'd come from an England experiencing biting cold temperatures during the "beast from the east" so it was most acceptable.

Mate, is there much to do or go on an Evening? We like long walks after dinner but corralejo looks pretty much out the way.

Been there once. Nice area but just watch the water and currents. Its known for water related deaths and I had to pull a guy out of the sea who didnt make it.

Plenty of very good restaurants and bars and a really good seafront walk towards the sandy beaches on the edge of the town. Been there four times and very easy going place lacking the yob culture.

We went there for Christmas & New Year. Weather was lovely and the temperature didn't dip too much in the evening either. Costa Teguise itself is a bog standard Spanish resort tending towards the British tourist. Lots of bars and restaurants. If you're thinking of walking along the promenade watch out for idiots hooning about on electric scooters. Albion have one game over Easter (away to Wolves) - gone are the days of three matches in four days so I will recommend The Dolphin to watch it. That bar, with very good food, shows every game (It's run by a Birmingham City fan) we had a blast watching the West Ham away match - get there early mind, at least 45 minutes before. There is a big Sunday market in Teguise village itself which is worth a visit. Some nice restaurants up there too.
