How ridiculous.

But pretty much standard policy across all television channels, happens all the time and has done for years.

It's only that is has affected a high profile programme like Corrie that anyone has noticed.

I seem to recall virtually every British channel cancelling their ENTIRE schedule that night...

Stuff gets cancelled all the time, mostly tucked away in schedules no one notices - especially around time of a natural disaster.

The chances of it being 1) a high profile programme and 2) having a similiar storyline are slim, but say for instance an earthquake takes places next week, schedulers will be searching their schedules for dramas that depict one.

Why, was there some kind of shooting thing lined up then?

Don't really see it much but I have noticed that Scottish bloke who was in prison appears to have escaped according to the trailers.

The main story at the moment, apart from that loon Tony wreaking revenge on the street, is Gail McIntyre up in court for murdering her husband...in the Lake District! I think that might have had something to do with it.
