I find it incredible that the bloke has made a career out of acting. He'd be poor in an am-dram society; he's shockingly bad.
I love Corrie though - they do have some bad actors but they have some good ones too and the scripts are top-notch. Here's to another 50 years.

i thought the effects were terrible, like some B rate crap japanese monster/horror film!

The scripts are what makes Corrie much better than EastEnders.
Most of what I hear in EE lacks any sort of credibilty or realism, yet they still think they're "gritty" and cutting edge.
Yes, that plot in Corrie with the tram is far fetched, but the day to day conversations are much more plausible than EE. Who turned Phil Mitchell from nothing into a crack addict within about three days, amongst other appalling storylines

As we know how many it is supposed to be, and having removed all those on longer odds, it has to be any four from that lot. Given that the actors who play Ashley and Janice have already announced they are leaving it would make little sense to kill them off...so, things don't look too good for the rest of them!

Exactly, there is a lot of comedy in the scripts and the music they play in the background is pretty witty if you listen carefully...Corrie isn't far off being better than the majority of TV aired as comedy!

EastEnders is absolutely CHRONIC when the scriptwriters try to be funny. Even worse than usual.
Coronation Street's comedy moments are usually pretty good, even though you know various characters (Roy, Norris, Cilla) are essentially caricatures.

...one of the saddest losses to tv was when Maggie Jones died, her portrayal of Blanche Hunt (don't try to say that in a hurry Mr Naughtie) was pure acting brilliance.
