I have only just got into Coronation Street. I watched a bit when I did some work for a lady who played an evil grandmother. Some cracking actors and I must say that it is very well scripted. Certainly a lot better than the other British soaps.

I only got into Corrie a few years back, there is a lot of humour in the programme, something which is largely missing from any of the other soaps...Eastenders is just depressing and why did they get rid of the farm in Emmerdale?

However it was so crap it was good, I loved the tram drivers face as they came off the rails and started the decent, it kinda looked like he was stamping frantically on the brakes !!!! Pure class from ITV, just glad I dont pay for that through the tv licence.

The writer is Graeme Harper who wrote and directed many Doctor Who episodes with RTD including the End of Time.


Phil Collinson was RTD's producer is now working with Graeme and they used the ENTIRE special effects team from Series 2 Army of Ghosts to create the Tram accident.

Comedy brilliant television from Corrie last night, it really is still far and away better than Eastenders.

Biggerty biggerty bong, so it is, aye Steve Liz looks fantastic. Good shout though, I like it.

I WAS AMAZED to read how much money was spent on make up for the film Planet of the Apes. Surely they could have replaced Helena Bonham-Carter with that woman who plays Gail in Coronation Street and saved a fortune.

I loved that quote too and entirely agree with your Gail comments. She's horrendously ugly and when I've seen her on the TV for animal-saving reasons, she sounds completely derranged. I wish she'd be killed off.

In fact, from what I see of Coronation Street these days, the ones I'd most like to be blown up are

-Norris
-Deirdre
-Dev (is he still in it??)
-Kevin Webster
-that one who used to be in Footballers' Wives that plays Gail's son (not David, the other son)

Dev is a particularly excellent shout. I can tolerate that Deirdre bloke though, and Kevin, and wet lettuce Norris.

Had Brookside not ended and the match tomorrow involved Liverpool, this might have been an excellent shout.
