How difficult is it to find a player in our squad that is capable of delivering a decent corner once in a while? The number of corners that Cox takes and doesn't even beat the first man is absolutely unbelieveable.
Surely this is something that could have been rectified in the 2 weeks before the Oldham game. It sounds like Micky's fitness regime in training doesn't allow for any football training. If it does, you have to wonder what he spends his time doing every morning on the training pitch.

Because we don't practice them in training. I kind of liked MK Dons set-piece taking routine, everytime there was a corner on the right the winger kept bending the corner backwards and it mean't a inswinger.

I didn't see any of tonights game thank god!!

We need a total rethink on training though.

I think someone has said make sure you deliver it past the first man, but no one has told him that the first man is almost certainly taller than him!!!!!!

Far be it from me to take away the blame from Micky Adams :lolol:, but has anyone been able to take a dangerous corner at the club since Darren Currie ?

Give Elphick a try, he can't do any worse.

It never ceases to amaze me that a "professional" footballer, training every day, presumably practicing set pieces in that time, cannot beat the first F***ing man at corners! I bet that 80% of corners taken this sunday in the park find their way to the danger zone. Absolutely f***ing disgraceful. There is NO excuse for it, Cox is a lazy little twat.

A corner is not hard and it really does beggar belief that ours rarely even get into the actual goal area these days.

Fuckin hell I was saying this last season and I can't believe that neither Wilkins or Adams can see it.In fact he used do it all game week in week out last year. I've always understood that it is criminal not to beat the first defender from a set piece.

Its so blindingly obvious to everyone and has been for several years now, that I can only assume he gets hauled in on Monday morning EVERY week, and EVERY week he gets it right in training, only to balls up again on Saturday.

Be interesting to see the percentage of how many of Cox's set pieces he takes get above knee height, I bet it's less than 50%.

poor ability and no imagination on corners and free kicks. MA and his team have had pre season and over 4 months to practice set pieces...and what's the best we can come up with? a near post corner easily cleared, a corner that swerves out of play and free kicks taken by "anyone" that don't reach the danger area.
