I know we wouldn't want to spend every week in a half empty stadium, but surely it would have been more economical if the corners at Falmer had seats now, rathe than later if need. Wouldn't that have increased capacity by a few more thousand?

O/K for the 9,000,000th time, planning permission was granted on the basis of the capacity being serviced by sustainable modes of transport, the size was dictated by how many we could get there by public transport, walking, cycling
But the accepted NSC scenario is that in the event of need the corners could be filled in,another tier put on a couple of stands and the Falmer duckpond designated a carpark for amphibious vehicles.

Sure it would be good to have the corners filled in now but it's worth remembering we sort of pulled down the trousers of the planning office and Lewes residents by suggesting we would be building a modest 22,000 stadium that blended into the Sussex countryside when infact we have built a magnificant yet very imposing 35,000 seater stadium on the edge of a national park. i'm pretty confident that over the next decade the ground will be extended, one corner and planning battle at a time.

Das Reich - I appreciate your ability for constructive feedback to relatively new subscribers who may not know all the answers. I'll let you get back to your hand shuffling. Ta

A good business decision, once the stadium is built and it is proved it can be filled, over a period of time, or there are susequent promotions.
Then there would be a better case for the additional seating and if this is the case the stadium would pay for out of revenues raised.

All the infrastructure and set up is there for a 30,000 seater stadium. The corners and the extra tier on the East Stand will go in within the first three years once it has been proved that there are no transport issues.
