Surely they won't appoint Wise? He has no credibility in football.

:devilsadvocatesmilie:

Dennis Wise
Managerial statistics:

Millwall 15 October 2003 9 May 2005 89 games 40.45% wins
Swindon Town 22 May 2006 24 October 2006 17 games 52.94% wins
Leeds United 24 October 2006 28 January 2008 99 games 47.47% wins

Dennis Wise
Playing statistics:

Wimbledon, 135 games, 27 goals.
Chelsea, 332 games, 53 goals.
Leicester, 17 games, 1 goal.
Millwall, 85 games, 6 goals,
Southampton, 11 gmaes, 1 goal
Coventry, 13 games, 6 goals.

593 games, all at a higher level than League One, 93 goals, Tell me again about the great footballing statistics of Slade, Wilkins, Taylor, Hinshelwood, Adams.

I am only making a point here as there might be some who are unaware of the nasty little mans footballing credentials.

BTW, I don't want him as manager.

Just far enough away from LDC
"One of the first names and on initial contact ruled himself out" Can still be twisted as "we never got our first choice".

Exactly. This is the second managerial change that has been driven by a Bloom initiated sacking and in both cases we have failed with our first choice.

Look at the record when the previous chairman had total say:

- Gritt sacked replaced by Horton next day
- Wood sacked replaced by first choice Adams within the week
- Hinshelwood sacked and replaced in same announcement by Coppell
- lardy jocko sacked and replaced by Wilkins before being made permanent a few weeks later
- if you believe the Wilkins sacking was a Knight initiated one, replaced at same time with Adams.

Not good is it?

Yesss!!! Great news. Now let's get a manger who ISNT a Palarse legend and likely to jump ship at the earliest opportunity.

BTW, I don't want Wise either...

How the f*** is that great news? It's bitterly disappointing.I had my heart set on Coppell returning. Now it feels back to square one.

i feel like i've been told a girl fancies me and then when you ask them if they want to go out for a drink they turn around and say 'you're not my type'

we're going to get somebody shit/underwhelming now
Is that how you feel about your other half? ;)

some 1 upstairs said it was a done deal which is naughty
The grapevine was that he had been offered the job a while back. For me, the fact that the club said they wouldn't be announcing until next week was the writing on the wall.

On the positive side, I suppose he might have bailed after a few months leaving the club with the same problem a bit later. Great manager, but seemingly a bit of a quitter, for whatever reason.

Wise and Poyet please. Don't want Curbs, made some shocking signings before he left West Ham - Boa Morte 5m, Faubert, Ljunberg, Nigel Quashie, Kieron Dyer.

No thanks.

Palace scum, end of.

Bring in some proper Brighton people. Curbishley, Wilkins, Wilson, Horton, or a combo therefrom.

Cotterill? His record isn't bad. Only sacked by Burnely cos he couldn't get them in the Premier League. I think that is the level that we will get.
