Coppell "Brighton was biggest mistake of my career"

Just add my sentiment to the 'bollocks' camp.

Fluffster, that's the biggest load of crap I've seen posted. Whoever your source is they are lying to you. Probably to impress you, maybe just because they hate SC, either way, don't fall for it.

Total crap.

Also, can we stop this SC was a **** rubbish.

Look at the balance of the arguments:

No stadium, not given an interview for the job the first time round, no money for players, no long term links with the club, Div 2

versus

New stadium, money for players, Div 1

er...I don't really see how he was ever going to stay. In fact, what I'm impressed with is how long it took him to leave.

He left us top of the league.

He was being paid more than at any time in his career.
He got relegated but still won loads of plaudits.
Took a good side to the top of a shite division.
Took ages to decide that he actually wanted to go to Reading.
Booker quoted as saying he didn't really want to leave.

Basically - it's bollox!!

I'm not having this either, it didn't take a genius to work out that he was with us, and even though Knight showed him the door in favour of cash (IMHO), he still spent ages deciding wether to go !!

Ooohhh contraversy! (erm.. spelling?! nevermind)

Apparently however i'm now told this is "old news", it was referring to last summer while SC was in Tunisia or wherever he was, waiting for another job offer before signing the new contract. He couldn't get any job offers and decided that taking us over in that relegation season was a big mistake for his career...

Either that or my source is just being a complete palace cvnt.

Anyway my apologies, it's still a sore point having that prick leave us during the middle of the season that i was willing to believe anything about it.

And he didn't take you down in his first full season, because he joined in october, after Hinshelwho lost you 12 games on the trot.

Hinshelwood won 1, drew 1 and lost 10, Coppell lost against Sheff Utd and Palace!

If that was the case why did he re-sign for us in the Summer ?
