Anyone who doesn't rate Coppell as a manager either..

1) Didn't watch the Albion in the season he took over from Hinshelwood or

2) Did watch the Albion that season but knows jack shit about football!

It pains me to admit that, despite being ex-Palace, he was just about one of the best tactical managers we've had and, despite a very dour & boring image, seems able to find & motivate players.

I remamber his Brentford team beating MA's finest at Withers. he is a scholar of the game. We are not short of players, I reckon he could get them to play.

My thoughts entirely. Good with tactics, motivation and finding players. That will do for me.

My one reservation about him (not bothered by the Palace crap, especially as it will piss them off no end for him to be here again), but yes, inspite of his apparently dour image/personality, he does seem to be able to motivate and get the best out of players.

So Steve Coppell signed two crap players for us - both on loan (Flitney and Webb), a couple of mediocre ones, and some absolute quality.

I think that shows Coppell has an eye for a good player - Rodger, Sidwell & Ingimarsson are three of the best players we've had in the last 20 years.

Those people blaming him for Kitson & Barrett should have got their facts straight.

Very good post that. To be honest FG I don't even consider him dour either: he just chooses his words very carefully and they have all the more impact for it. He's a perfect example of how speaking softly can be much more effective than ranting and shouting like Neil Warnock or some other brainless arsepiece like that.

One thing I like about Coppell is his dignity. He took dogs abuse when he managed Brentford at Withdean (it was all great fun) but he simply concentrated on the game - and they won.

He is a good man who can do what we need him to do.

NEVER NEVER NEVER go back, when will people learn like. Steve Coppell (HEAD TOO POINTY) has a bad AURA and should not be manager

There is only ONE man for the job, and that is Dean Wilkins, (PERFECT SMILE!!!) a player who had TWO spells for the Albion, and was youth team manager and then FIRST team manager.

Remember that under Dean we won 36 (THIRTY SIX!!!!!) league matches, and in EVERY one of them we got 3 (THREE!!!) points. If he takes over now we could still go up as Champions (CHAMPIONS!!!) with another 108 points from the rest of this season.

Now that Dick Knight (LIAR!!!!!) is no more at the Albion, and is running a whelk (FUNNY SORT OF FISH!!!) stall in Spain with the money he stole (THEFTED!!!) from the 1983 cup final, then new chairman Tony Bloom (EYES TOO CLOSE TOGETHER PERHAPS???) should pay Southampton (SAINTS!!!) whatever they want to get Dean back.

You been working on your spelling?

I liked it better before
