Why is the rivalry so bad ?

It's historical. Both clubs used to be almost side by side in a poor part of the city. Sometime in the 1920s (yes that long ago) River Plate moved somewhere nicer.

Boca are still where they were.

Great appreciation between players after the game . It's about time South American football came on to the world stage.. at least at this level. Players with a real loyalty and passion to succeed for their clubs and not on Champions League wages.
