:nono: :nono:

Do you not think they might want to call the players involved and ask them to come into the Club for a one-to-one before the news is announced to NSC?

Agreed. I'm sure it is a hard decision for the management at the club.

Contracts are not things that are "given out". They are things that are negotiated.

Part of the negotiating process often consists of one party saying "Give me some time to think about it". One individual saying that can hold up a whole package of deals.

How the Argus imagined it knew when everything would be settled is a mystery.

Actually, it's not. It's just piss-poor journalism.

I am sure we will hear in time for the pre season games.

Surely it just means they met today to discuss whether or not players would be offered new deals.

So we'll presumably find out tomorrow anyone we've released - Dodd, McCammon etc

No negotiating needed if you are releasing a player!

I assumed they meant we'd get an announcement telling us who was being released, and who was being "offered" a new contract.

Is it me or is the club becoming a bit of a joke in regards to this issue?

I am appalled that it appears the players (eg Guy) seem to find out more via NSC than anyone actually at the club.

That is just embarrassing.

Indeed.

Maybe - from a player's point of view - no news is good news.

We don't necessarily get an immediate announcement.

For example ... I heard (from a reliable source) weeks ago that Michel Kuipers had been promised a free transfer. The story only made the Argus on 10 May.

I thought we wanted a moderate fee?
