Maybe cannot get target?
I suspect more that we are having to pour the resources from that pot and the 3rd goalie pot into the Delaney / striker coffers.

This isn't a disaster though.

The current 7 defenders + a new left back + U21 Gomez / Tomori should be fine I hope.

Was this ever an option, where is the source for this in the first place other than a newspaper in Bristol ?
I tend to go with info like post #4, although granted it isn't an absolute truth.

Personally, I wouldn't loan CG... keep him here, where we can carefully manage his progress back to the 1st team...

No way.

CG played in 4 (four) full competitive games last season, plus the same again in cup competitions.
Keeping him at the club this season could make that look like a tough schedule, as he's not first choice centre back.

CG needs the Albion's last season again, not bench warming.
The Albion needs an experienced centre back.

It's not as if they don't have doctors at other clubs!

Will those doctors be as good as ours though?

Yeah you might be onto something, anyone can get a medical degree, after all it only takes:-

To get on a medical degree you normally need at least five GCSEs at grades A* or A, including English and maths and at least grade B in science. You also need a minimum of three A levels at grades AAA or AAB in chemistry and either biology, physics or maths, plus another academic subject.
Currently doctors in the UK may train for up to 16 years before qualifying. 5 years for their degree (or six if you intercalate and take a useful subject like, say, History of Medicine), 2 years for a post-graduate foundation course, and then 3 to 8 years in specialist training.

Or they could employ:-

The truth of it is though, that none of us know whether, (or not), it will be 'fine'.

The Premier League is completely unknown territory for us. We will have to wait until next May to find out.

If he is back to his best, we want to keep him surely?

Far more suited to the premier league than Uwe in my opinion, but can see why a loan move is required, if Gomez arrives it makes sense.

If he can't make the first team, let some one else pay his wages.

Club may feel a whole season in the championship playing is what he needs now rather than a bit part with us.
Think he's fantastic so new deal & season loan.

Considering how little Championship experience he's actually had, the PL would be a huge step up - for that reason a season long loan to a Championship club would make sense. Not unless we've got someone in before letting him go, though.
Thought he looked good in last week's friendly.
