How on earth are people not understanding what mejonaNO12 aka riskit is saying? His point is you shouldn't be called a rapist until a court says you are a rapist. How is that difficult to grasp?

Ched Evans found guilty of rape is the headline, or am I missing something?

That may be his point, but his argument appears to be that Ched Evans isn't really a rapist because it's just the opinion of one court.

What seems to be factual in this issue, is that all parties were incredibly stupid.
These teenaged lads so desperate to get laid that they took advantage of the girl's drunken state (I have doubt that they drugged her, that's extreme criminal behavior with forethought to even have those sorts of drugs on them).
For anyone to get in such a stupor that they can be subject to the sexual molestation she claims, yet cannot recall anything about the proceedings and apparently hadn't the ability to struggle against it, is also just very stupid. No, she isn't to be blamed for her plight, but the outcome suggests she is of dubious character also.

Stupid stupid people, the lot of them.

It interests me that men very rarely get castigated for getting drunk and doing all sorts. As a bloke, drinking fifteen pints, pissing in the town centre fountain then running naked down the High Street seems to be applauded as some kind of statement of masculinity. Even if you're pissed as a fart, minding your own business as you stagger home, and then get punched in the face by a stranger, nobody says you brought it on yourself. But for females to do the same, unfailingly invites criticism.

I don't think being drunk has helped her here, clearly, but it equally doesn't make her "of dubious character" either. We've all had nights of drunkenness in our lives. It's the people who take advantage of that for their own gain who are in the wrong.

With all due respect, Ched Evans is hardly "famous". There is no suggestion- other than by terminally stupid third division footballers- that this case was about money. I bet (prior to last week) hardly anyone outside Sheffield would even have recognised Ched Evans if he walked down the street wearing a t-shirt with "I'm CHED EVANS OF SHEFFIELD UNITED" printed on the front. Even less Clayton McDonald.

He was well known in Rhyl I understand. She knew who he was.

No argument from me, BoF's comment made me think of the chris brown twitter comments and I was just trying to link the conversation.

am i the only one that thinks watching through a window of someone having sex and sitting in the same room all a bit creepy also.

No you're not.

I don't think the R-word is inappropriate for what Evans did. He shags an unconscious girl. What's particularly un-rapey about that?

Because that isn't what he's saying? He ha issues with Evans being called a rapist, despite being found guilty by a court of rape.

He was proven to be a rapist.
The law was made plain that a defenceless drunk victim, absolutely does not mean consent.

Connor Brown is scum. I hope the law and SheffU come down on that scummer hard. No compassion for the true victim. Rapist Evans will be freed, but the poor girl will find it hard to forget.

Ched describe himself in Court as handsome & with the pick of women, being a rich footballer.
Strange how the lowlifes had trouble in that aspect that evening, and at closing time found a defenceless victim, and took her back to a cheap motel chain, in a naff town. Hardly the life of a playboy.

Erm.... not so fast. If a lad gets bladdered and ends up getting shagged, is there still no questions asked about his ending up in bed with the shagger(s)?

If this lass didn't make any objections or fight at the time, and all others claim it was consensual - there must be some grounds for wondering how she can claim it wasn't cricket after the deed. Not saying she's a devious accuser, but her character IS questionable in my opinion.
I wasn't in court, so I'll have to expect that the judgment was based on more than an after-the-fact decision based on her guilt. Once she did start the ball rolling though, she was always going to have to see it to the finish and with someone getting done - or else she would definitely have lost face with all and sundry inc. family.
THAT is another reason why her identity ought to have been kept a secret too.

Of dubious character? Who the f*ck are you, the Taliban? Hands up who hasn't done something utterly stupid when drunk? That'll be everyone, then.

Of dubious character, get over yourself.
