I do wonder when some of you find time between worrying what other stands are signing to watch the football at matches

It's clear that some people aren't watching the football. As Albion mount an attack, which naturally leads to a lot of singing dying down, sometimes they'll be a boo from the North Stand because the West or East Stand haven't reciprocated a rendition of a song. Could be rather disconcerting for our players.

Reds lose out at the seaside - Monday 7th November 2011 | Chronicle Online Sport | Official site of the Barnsley Chronicle

Not sure if anyone has posted this before but the Barnsley local paper didn't seem to think our support was poor......

"But most of these chances came after Brighton had already established their lead and the hosts saw the match out in front of their hostile home crowd of 19,841 in their excellent new Amex Stadium.

I think some people need to get a grip.

This

Who honestly gives a shit which stand was loudest?

All this "West Stand was pathetic" rubbish just makes whoever is saying it look a nob.

Absolutely this.

Just one question. Where were these threads after matches at Withdean?

Oh they were there. Less prevalent, but they were there.

Substitute 'NSK' for 'H block' and 'West Stand' with 'North Stand'.

I've moaned about the WSL before and been ticked off for it on here. It was quieter than usual in my section of it yesterday. Looking around I've come to the conclusion that a lot of it is down to new supporters not knowing songs/having the confidence to sing and the number of shared tickets - the number of different faces every game is high. I'm sort of resigned to it now and so not so worked up. I and my brother still sing all game, sometimes people around join in, sometimes they look at us like we're from another planet, but mostly they just sit there (hopefully) enjoying the footie.

The whole ground was the quietest I've heard it and I've been to every home game. Having said that, it was still a good atmosphere and when the excitement levels rose it was great.

What is stupid from the OP is trying to accuse a stand of 12000 people of constantly criticising the North's singing/choice of songs - as with most things NSC it's a few people with far too much to say for themselves (and yes, I include myself in that at times). What was more annoying was the mass exodus in the WSL, hardly anyone left to applaud CMS, Paynter and Bridcutt when they made it over. Maybe it is the transport issues, the difference in waiting times can be huge when you hang back 'til the end. It's not a problem for me as I'd rather see the boys in and wait 40 minutes than rush for the first wave of buses/trains. But maybe it is a genuine problem for others. I certainly don't want to judge the early leavers en mass, but do so many have to leg it so early?

I thought the west sang more than any part of the stadium today, the east is the side I can't hear!

There's only one way to get around this and that is for everybody in the West Stand to spend the entire game watching the North Stand instead of the football to see when they stand up and sing the "we're the north stand" part of the song. The North Stand will also have to do likewise to make sure they respond should the West Stand start it.

Admittedly it does mean a bit of a waste of money on a season ticket if you can't watch any of the game, but I'd rather that than be accused of being a disgrace and not a loyal supporter of the club

I thought the atmosphere was decent on Sunday, but why are we all of sudden leaving with 5 minutes to go is beyond me?!

Herd mentality, someone leaves a few more leave then everyone gets jittery about getting to the train or Park and ride. I even found myself doing it Sunday.
