Let's nip this W vs N shit in the bud. Both were singing - WSU not as loud but i did expect a little more from the North after hearing the 30 blokes at the SSCF - I'm sure when full it'll come. But pls North stand stop singing 'Can u hear the West Stand Sing' etc every 2 mins - it sounds v H Block ish - you should've been ripping Spurs for ther v poor noise level. And trust me the WSU in places was joining in with the songs but you couldn't hear cos you were singing too...

But all the same NIP IT IN THE BUD NOW AND ALL GET ON AND CREATE AN ATMO TOGETHER

Triple this. We're all Albion fans. And even any JCL's are Albion fans in the making. We got the bloody stadium through all the fans working together and now there's bitching between 2 of the stands? Pathetic and childish.

What rot. WSU very vocal, very pleased that we are sitting in a vocal area. Enjoyed the the NSK today a good job from all concerned. I think the acoustics don't relay the sound to the NS that well as we totally did you on the "we're north stand, we're the West stand" song.
Here in the East it was quiet.....from here the acoustics are very good. The song you refer to sounded the same from each stand....only it should have been louder from the West considering the population.

North stand owned it today, but the roar from the West was deafening when they eventually got going. The atmosphere is gonna be electric in that stadium this season!

Nothing to do with the which stand is better nonsense but I think the West will come alive when the away end is filled with vocal support. That is the only downside of the NS in that they are so far from the away fans the sound does not carry enough for banter.

Sorry mate, hands up i'm not much of a singer i go to watch football.

I love the club but have never seen the point in going to a match and facing each other singing left side right side, now before you all start it sounds great and well done if thats your thing... but it's just not me.

I just love the football.

West upper had a mixed bag of fans, several had come for the one event, several Spurs up there, oldies and family types, and Mum and Dads with kids.
These interspersed in the ranks and separating our fanbase up are naturally going to lower the chance of any uniform chanting.
Still I heard singing and saw ours responding to North stand shouts, and when ours sang "North stand give us a song" the North sat on their hands and the "shhh" was basically, obeyed!

North Stand you lot can't talk the WSU down until you earn your right!

I agree. The north sang a lot and fair play but they spent more time singing about the west stand than they did supporting the team.

Great effort on the noise though. I thought the atmosphere was electric for most of the game even though it was only a friendly.

Why the f*** am I an idiot you twat ? I booked my seats in the back four rows of the north stand, perhaps the old couple should have listened to Martin Perry at the season ticket presentations !

True..... Forgot to even try out my seat .......are they comfy?
From my seat, towards the end of the match the WS chants started coming through nice and clear

Have to say, from what I have read on here, the WSU may well have been singing lots, but it couldnt really be heard in the North until the last 10/15 mins. I was in the North and never heard the rendition you mention.

TBH, I thought the North was quite until they started singing the stolen Nigel's song.

I was in the WSU and thought we made a lot of noise but it was all led from the North, which you would expect. Under the roof it seemed deafening when it got going. Interesting that the WSL could not hear the WSU because we could not really hear anything from the WSL or the East.

Sound waves travel in straight lines. Therefore sitting in WSL (as I was) most of the WSU noise will travel over your head and North Stand sound will sound louder as it is travelling straight at you. You also can't compare the sound from the stand that you are sitting in as it will naturally sound the loudest.

The only place you can really find out who sounds louder (if your ego needs it) is from the pitch where you are equidistant from each stand.

So the only people that will know are the players.

I don't like to moan about signing because it's better than no singing, but al that leftside/rightside, northstand/weststand singing, I hope we don't have to have that every week. It's just about bearable away from home if there's not much else going on. At home, get behind the team.
