As for the kit, definitely not. You do get the odd geek with half of Millets hanging off their belt, but frankly I prefer to be able to run (if I have to) without creating more drag than an Elton John birthday party.

Boys Brigade rules!!!

Too right!

5th Worthing Boys Brigade - f***ing ruled they did.

And I was in the band that provided the half-time entertainment for Worthing's 1980(?) extravaganza in the FA Cup at Woodside Rd. Dartford I think. We beat them and then lost to Oxford in the next round. Phil Danks and Martin(?) Freeman got arrested for trying to take on the Oxford crew single-handed!

beaver and cub - 8th burgess hill

i was sixer of yellow six at cubs, then unfortunately they realised that me and one associate were utter trouble makers, so they pleased us in our own little six - all two of us!

realising how wank it was at this stage, simply as they did not have the heart to kick us out, we both left

Got my Chief Scout Award and all. Many a good memory especially of the times going camping without any leaders, which would inevitably lead to all sorts of fire related antics (fire football, flaming tyres, lynx cans on the fire etc).

Way out west
Cub - 1st Sullington and Storrington
Scout - 1st Storrington
ATC - 2464 Sqn (Storrington)

Cubs was a laugh as we were all kids and it just involved a lot of messing around, think that all I learned was how to tie a couple of knots, use a telephone and make a pot of tea...come to think of it, that is more than I learnt in school and far more useful. Scouts was not quite so great, harder knots, British Bulldog and competition camps at a place near Rustington (looking back it was more like a Stalag Luft XIII re-enactment society). Left Scouts because it became boring and joined the ATC instead, wise move as I managed to go on a couple of overseas camps to Germany, including an excellent week in Berlin before the wall came down.

7th Hove if I recall as a seconder. What a waste of a Wednesday evening back in 1982. The club finished at 8 and my mum had to rush me home for the rest of The Benny Hill Show. Mind you, we had a fairly good cub football team. We beat another cub team 23-0 one Saturday !!. Happy Days

I was in 2464. The cadets are still probably using your old uniform. Probably still pics of you on camp lurking around somewhere.

Scouts was rubbish though, so i quit.

Didn't get many badges though, as all we ever seemed to do was play indoor football!

I was a cub, and I was in the Air Scouts (my Dad was in the RAF and we grew up as a RAF family).

Ever meet any Raf Regiment?

Why, you offering? I probably have come accross them, but to me a man in uniform is a man in uniform. I don't look at the stripes. Wing commander or cadet NCO, I'd hardly notice the difference.
