To all you folk who've ever openly slagged or doubted Poyet on this forum or elsewhere (and you know who you are) please take your ill informed views, all your negativity and your clap trap, pack your bags and ship out. Do it now before your embarrassment gets the better of you.

Alternatively, the real fans, the ones who saw the potential in Poyet, who sat back and gave him a chance to unleash his talent, have agreed to let you off if you apologise unreservedly right here, right now.

I doubted Poyets appointment at the time & thought we should've gone for Nigel Adkins. Does that make me a bad fan? That initially i thought we should've gone for a proven league one manager over raw potential?............................ I'll get my coat

I admit when Slade was sacked I wanted Coppell, and was very disappointed that he wasn't already "lined up" when Russell got the spanish archer. If you'd given me the choice back then between Poyet and Coppell, quite honestly I would've gone for old VD.

Having said that, once Gus got the job I've been behind him 100%.

Never doubted Poyet. However, if I were chairman (and I'm glad that I'm not), I would have given Slade an extra month.

This shows why Tony Bloom is a shrewd businessman and fantastic chairman and why I am not.

Steve Coppell was well over the hill. Poet is still climbing up it, past Base Camp though...

Poyet wasn't even on the radar when Slade was binned, which is why Coppell was a popular choice at the time. Events have proved over the last 12 months that Coppells had enough of management and Poyet is the rising new superstar, but this time last year it wasn't quite so obvious.

This really is a shit. But if must grovel before you, I freely admit wanting Adkins over Poyet and posting as such here, and then being pissed off Poyet went scouting in Argentina whilst Crofts was being transferred.

So slap my arse and f*** off

Those were exactly my thoughts, feelings and actions.

I am so glad flaky Gannon ruled himself out, Ince thought he was too good for us and we avoided a Coppell meltdown (although that might not have happened with us).
