Shame there are so many posts about current international politics and not the original focus of this thread.
Yes Putin, Trump, Blair, and many other modern statesmen (and it is usually men) have blood on their hands, but there is a difference between them and the Maoist regimes that espoused a return to an agrarian society and authoritarian single party state that led to the deaths of countless millions of their own citizens. In the same way that there is a difference between them and the nazis.
Sure, there are lots of commonalities, which we can learn from, but they are entirely different in terms of context and motive.
What happened in Cambodia is unique to cambodia...and it was truly terrible.
