And when you think about the gameplay it was revolutionary and shaped many more modern sports sims. If only the internet had existed beyond geeks back then they could have monetised the training of players and made an absolute killing.

I loved this game but was terrible at it. The overhead parallax scrolling was so different and fluid compared to all other games in its genre other than Sensi.

My top five Amiga games were:

SWOS
Kick off
Premier Manager 2
Speedball2
Championship Manager 93/94

So many hours spent with my brother on SWOS, Kick Off and Speedball 2.
But the 2 player option on Premier Manager 2 were some of my most memorable game playing hours.

I'll have to dust off a copy. I remember there was a hidden Castle Wolfenstein level half way through - between levels 15 and 16 of the 30 I think - but I can't remember how to find it.

No idea it came out as early as 85, the 500 can after the 1500 I seem to remember.

The 500 came out in 1987. Been involved in a film about the history of the Amiga so I picked up a few bits of trivia. Although I had one, I started working in IT around that time and never got into it as much as my C64/Vic 20/ZX81. Still have my girlfriend's original 600 in my collection though.

The family had a BBC B back in the 80s. Must have 'wasted' months playing ELITE. What a game that was. We had a ZX79/80/81 before that too. Good times.

Needless to say, I have a spreadsheet! Individually, nothing I have is worth a fortune but as a collection, it is probably worth a bit. ZX81s and Spectrums go for around £30, C64s between £50 and £100. BBC computers tend to be around £100. It is a collection I have built up over the last 10 years or so - often as fixer uppers - so I haven't spent too much on it.

Not sure impressed is the word my girlfriend uses - tolerated is probably a better word! Still tidying up my bookshelves and I currently have one shelf jammed packed with Albion books and 2 with old computer/computer game books. Kickstarter was a very bad invention for people like me.

I'm not, and never was, a big computer game fan. Other than sensible soccer, obviously. I didn't even own a computer until about 2005. All that said it's amazing how many of these games I've actually played. Absolutely loved playing sensible soccer and to a slightly lesser degree kick off 2 and speedball 2 when I was round my friends house.

I'd also like to chuck in Duke Nukem 3D. I was utter shit at it but it had strip clubs and peep shows so it had its plus points.
