Feeling old thanks to the 90s thread, I have decided to become a splitter and start a thread for old farts. To counter Speedball 2, here is Rocketball which wasn't influenced by Rollerball but rather a complete rip off.

And a list could go on for pages.

Football Manager/Football Director/Tracksuit Manager/International Soccer/Emlyn Hughes International Soccer
Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy
Uridium/Paradroid

I remember Emlyn Hughes footy game and Super Zaxxon. In the 80s the teams making games were truly pioneering the space and left a hit of what could be achieved to the 90s gang!

The hunt for Red October.... Commodore 64.
Hours and hours and hours searching for a red dot on a blue screen... desperately wanting to fire a harpoon missile at it only to find out the tape had jammed hours earlier.
Still kept coming back.....

My wife bought me the new retro C64 with 64 built in games. Only ever played about 5 of them, but some good memories.

C64 and Spectrum were my era, games that spring to mind that I loved were:

Full Throttle
Ant Attack
Scuba Dive
Manic Minor
Monty Mole
Skool Daze
Football games - managerial or playing, very basic but so much fun.

One day I'll buy a Spectrum and a box of old tapes. I do like modern gaming, but there's something appealing about going back to basics.

Skool Daze - Spectrum

Paradroid - C64
Karate Champ - C64
Paperboy - C64

So many hours of fun.

There are emulators easily available which make these games playable on modern kit some of the games stand the test of time better than others.

The good old ZX Spectrum where the games were on cassettes that had to be loaded at just the right volume, many an hour wasted trying to load games but oh so worth it. My favourites were all sporting....
