In Hollingbury they had the bread man in the 70's/early 80's and a library van.

Oh and a rag and bone man every now and then as well!

All the old music venues; Alhambra, Buccaneer, Art College Basement, New Regent, original Concorde by the Sea Life Centre. Attrix records in Sydney Street (home of the Piranhas and the Chefs amongst others).

Oh, and here's one that I may or may not have imagined, certainly never heard about it in the past ten years. There was going to be a HOME superclub in Madeira Drive on the underground level. 2000 capacity. They went as far as kitting it all out, then it got refused planning permission due to - big surprise there! - residents objections. Early 90s I think it would have been. It's probably still there, waiting to be discovered in hundreds of years time. Anybody able to confirm?

The cinema in North Street - opp Boots where Burger King is now.

The manager used to come out in a dinner jacket and introduce the films  Closed mid-80s or thereabouts. Not been in that Burger King for yonks. Used to be if you went through to the bit where they showed cartoons on a big project and looked behind you, and up, you could still see the balcony of the cinema complete with seats. Maybe still can.

It was to be a 'Cream' club.

As for the smell of Sunblest, very good but much better was Clarks near the Goldstone, especially at evening games.

The old bloke with a big bushy white beard who played the violin on the steps of an old boarded up hotel in North Street. I think he had a Jack Russell with him.

Anyone remember the blind busker who played the harp? There was a portrait of him hanging in the main public library.

There was also an old pianist in Dr Brighton's in the early 80s who played a bizarre music selection including lots of classical stuff.

Silver ring boxing club used to put their shows on in this hall at the race course. Does anyone know if they still do that ? Or even if the silver ring boxing club still exists ? Going back to late 70's early 80's here.
