Comparisons with last season - and why we're going up

The big difference for me is Duffy and a maturing Dunk (he used to give the opposition a chance a game), we look so much more solid this season and will not be bullied at the back. Having quality cover in very position bar Baldock is also beginning to have an effect as other less strong squads are weakened by injury and suspension. Winning against promotion rivals is also making a big difference.

I am not confident of promotion, yet, just remember how far Derby were ahead a couple of seasons ago, and they didn't even make the play offs.

Absolutely loving this season so far, we are where we are because we are arguably the best team in the division.....so far.

The only teams behind us and Newcastle that we need to worry about is Fulham, Derby and Villa.

Don't think we have to worry about reading, they had a good run of fixtures winning 4/5 in a row so I think their position is a bit false.

Wednesday and Birmingham are teams who can beat anyone but can just as easily lose to anyone too

Another plus factor - last season we didn't beat other contenders. This time we've beaten Narch, Leeds, massive club Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield when they were flying and Fulham (oh yes they are). Leeds last night was similar to the Huddersfield game in that the visitors arrived with a growing hype surrounding them and when we got a closer look it was obvious that we're better. And it may not have been pretty but we beat them.

Totally agree. And people say we didn't play well! We did what we needed to v ten men with a mid week game coming up.

In 15/16 after drawing v Derby; (ie: Game #20) we went on to secure only 2 points out of 18 from our next 6 games.

D v QPR
L v Boro
D v Brentford
L v Ipswich
L v Wolves
L v Rotherham

This year we play: Blackburn (A), Birmingham (A), QPR(H), Cardiff (H) Fulham(A), Preston (A)
4 out of our next 6 games are Away...

And Norwich. If Norwich go on a run like they did a few months ago (8 wins in a row or something) they'll be right behind us / ahead of us - can easily happen again. Not ruling others out just yet!
