And again, in English this time?

I think you'll find the Irish right to vote in the UK is a consequence of the Ireland Act, 1949 and not actually anything specific to electoral rights, anyway.

exactly what I was saying. A sop to a constitutional tear in the fabric. I am not getting into it with you, all I can say is the IRA attacked my home town. When someone from Saltdean left a bomb in a Dublin hotel please let me know and we can argue on a level playing field.

Nothing will ever change my mind about the disgust I feel about the Irish Rebublican assault on my town. Dont even bother entering into debate about it.

What on earth makes you think I'm a Republican?

your constant banging on about f***ing ireland mate. anyone i know from brighton who is over 35 is livid about what happened to this day. even the newman boys who are o flahertys and all that. it does not sit well with proper brightonians to say the least.

its a tolerant town with good reason but there are things that are beyond the pale (irony itended).

Also, after a quick Google, the Grand bomber was UK born (Belfast) and bred (NORWICH of all places).

"the troubles" are a UK civil war, nothing more. Your problem, you keep it.

If you can find ONE thing I've said on here that suggests I support Republican actions or supported the bombings, please provide it. Theres thousands of posts for you to go through if you so wish.

You won't, so drop the f***ing attitude, thanks.

I have no problem with you. I have lived and worked in the republic with no problems whatsoever. What I will do is stick up for my home town that was subjected to a murderous assult by irish republicans.

perhaps the Ovingdean Liberation Front should have attacked Ballymurphy with sticks of rock and kiss me quick hats that exploded on impact but we never did. I am as sorry as anyone we were sucked into the vile racist wars that affect your island but as fishermen from the south coast of england we did not ask for it.

The vile racist wars affect a part of "my" island that the UK controls, not the part I come from and live in.

I live in the state of Ireland. I have nothing to do with the North. If you want to pick bones with someone, go find an actual Republican to do it with, rather than assuming I am one.

I don't claim there aren't republicans down here. They don't, however, speak for me or represent me - or indeed any sizeable amount of the country.

There is a reason Sinn Fein have approx. 3% of the seats in the parliament and no more - and thats using a PR system, they'd have none under FPTP.

that is why ferris sweeps the board there and SF are the main party in west kerry, and even now there are camps training people from belfast how to use semi automatic weapons and improvised explosives.

i can tell you plenty of stories about SFs gangster tactics and beating people to a pulp come election time, lets face it its a banana republic out there and i make no apologies for hating the dickheads egged on by people there who blew up my town.

sorry and all that but I hate them. I am just sorry we have these backward cnts near us.

In the 2007 General Election, Ferris got in on the last count in the last seat:
ElectionsIreland.org: 30th Dail - Kerry North First Preference Votes
He is not expected to hold his seat against a rallying Irish Labour vote in Kerry North. His daughter failed to get elected to Europe last year

SF hold two of 27 seats on Kerry County Council, a far cry from the "main party"

Belfast is in the UK. Their electoral tactics are in the UK. The people that blew up the Grand came from the UK

Don't involve my country in this - even if you've found a small cluster there who support the actions of republicans in the UK.

Again, where have I said anything of the sort?

He's a convicted criminal - he served ten years in prison in this country for arms importation.

This is ridiculous. Why shouldn't foreign people be able to vote? They're residents here and aren't all thieving our benefits system like some naive, racist idiots think. The vast majority of them are here to work, pay taxes and contribute to our economy like you or I. Who governs this country is important for everyone, not just the '100% English'.

yes i dont know of many recently arrived illegal nigerians who were up to their necks in muck and bullets in Burma 70 years ago. this sorry attitude has to stop now as its killing our country.
Exactly HOW MANY "recently arrived illegal Nigerians" do you imagine think it is a good idea to register their place of residence with the UK authorities?

Er, because they're foreign ? There are lots of issues of national interest that should only be decided by british nationals. Nobody forced them here, they're here because they want to be , if they dont like not having a vote , tough, but to be honest i doubt most foreigners here even realise or are bothered about it.
