Smiffy easily the funniest bit. Although liked Downton Downstairs Upstairs. Inbetweeners was a disapointment though. Masterchef was good too.

100% agree with that.

Just to put a real downer on it all, if the government were to say, hyperthetically, 'we need to raise £74 million to help kids in Africa, we're going to up taxes to pay for it', would you, Joe Public, be so generous?
Far better, like me have a direct debit every month to Marie Curie, or take 2 big crates of unwanted CD's to the Heart Foundation shop. We've had cancer-deaths in the family and I had a minor heart attack a couple of years ago. Guess my point is, I would rather give up my money to a worthwhile cause nearer to home.

To be honest, I turned off before Smithy - I can't stand Corden, and felt the whole Comic Relief format was a bit tired... BUT you can't argue with raising tens of millions of pounds for charity, so long may it continue for those who do want to watch.

Of course, its bigger than just the TV show, as it encourages lots of organisations to do fun and silly things for charity. Thats what got me to donate, not the TV show.

Inbetweeners up later, should be good. Agree it hasn't exactly been funny so far, or particularly happy. I swear they try and depress you more and more every year.

I think that is the whole point! and by raising in excess of £76 million in the answer

I've said before that a good cause is no excuse for crap entertainment. I didn't see any of it, and had no wish to - BUT you can't really baulk at the £74m that was raised on the night. That's a good amount, and will hopefully all go where it was intended. However, even with such a high total, if you think that's only £1 per person, it actually isn't very much - charities would do much better if you gave £10 per month. I have my personal favourite charities that I give to, Cancer Research (having had Cancer myself), Oxfam and World Wildlife - so I do this in my own way.

Lastly, I had no idea Fearne Cotton was hosting, but she is probably the most talentless person I have even seen. Completely devoid of anything at all.
