FT is sillier (and genius) but Porridge excelled at acting, writing, and pathos, making it the best sit-com ever. If it goes out in this round, I'm out.

What round is this?

I just did a load of face offs randomly. I'm gonna wait til World's Hardest Creature Competition is over, and then give this a WHIRL properly (nominations, group stages etc).

FT for the scripts just edges out the superior characterisation of Porridge, both a country mile ahead of UK sitcoms of the past few years.

My Family anyone? No I didn't think so.....

This is such a close call but Flowery tw ats for me.

Every time I watch them, which is probably every couple of months, I still laugh as much as I did first time round.

Seems a bit harsh to pair these 2 together, as they are probably both in the top 5 British sitcoms of all time. However, given that I regard Fawlty Towers as the numero uno, that gets my vote.

Very sadly the hotel was burned down in 1991 ( this was used for the outside filming ) and was actually in Buckinghamshire.

I have the definitive book on FT by the BBC but at the moment another FT nutter has got it.
