OK guys, there's a possible option on FRIDAY 24th - in the upstairs room. It's super-short notice, but would people be free to come this night?

too short notice for me and buddies, surely to fill it out and get as many as possible you want it to be a month or so away at least in order to get word around more? Wont get much done in little over a week!

Yep, good point. The only plus points were that it would be cheaper (the room is free as a result of a cancellation) and that people are more likely to come out on a Friday.

Just testing the water before I give a yes/no - but more feedback from the assembled NSC massive would be great - ta.

Well, if it's free, is there anything that we can do aside from a comedy night (the organisation of which would put you under considerable pressure) - even if it was, say, a club night? A meet-up is obviously out because Safeway has organised that for after the march three days later.

Nice thought, but I doubt I'll get two separate nights out of them, even if one night was 40 notes and the other night was the 2million appeal.

Dear Steve

Great idea, already being done around the country by Jongleurs which has pledged to raise £500,000 for UK sport over the next two years!

This sort of thing should be done by the club, in Bristol, there is a scheme called Sports rewards which funnily enough I've created!

Local restaurants, bars, comedy clubs and anyother leisure entertainments you care to mention, basically give money back to sports clubs who use their facilities! Clubs either use this as a fundraiser or a cheap night out for their members...hang on everyone I am getting to the point!

This is what Brighton and Hove Albion FC should have instigated!

a) Encourage people in the area to turn their normal social activities into an Albion fundraiser!

Everyone we know goes out now and again, imagine the business benefits for restaurants etc if people were given this extra incentive to visit their premises!

b) look at rewarding those who do pledge money (this could be done by axing affinity scams they push through the website and e-mails) and give them genuine freebies and offers on stuff they buy or stuff they do. This should be given automatically too season ticket holders who already pay far too much!

c) In the first two months of the scheme we have already helped local sports raise £10,000 and considering how f****** useless most sports administrators are, that's nothing short of a miracle.

If the NSC boys want to have a chat about this and perhaps how they can set it up in Brighton and East Sussex, please get in touch I would love to help and it will be all gratis!

All details can be found on http://www.trytime.org.uk

By the way living in Bristol and being an Albion fan has been immensely good fun since the end of May, only trouble is my wife is a Wolves fan and boy did this week hurt!

Good luck guys and I will be doing my bit!

Cheers
Billy

OK gang, the 24th Sept date is a no, on the 24th November date looks 95% definite.

Confirmed so far, Dan Evans, and George Egg, who, like myself, are giving their time up completely for free. Top lads.

This looks like it's going to happen... now, any suggestions for the name of the night?!?!

£9 is far to much.

I know a stand up, quite young (my age -17)

if we invite him he'll not only get u in tears of laughter but he'll bring a massive following!

No way i could afford £9 for it though!
