I won't argue with that, but if he was more consistent he would be a Premiership player. Dunk and El Hab were also shocking, IMO.

yep....the thing with brezovan is that he's fine for a mid table championship team....any higher and his inconsistency becomes too much of a liability

if we have any aspirations to go up that's one area that we definitely need to strengthen

Really didn't you see the Milwall game. He has done ok but how can a 6ft 7" fella not catch a cross. We desperately need a new keeper! Both Brez and Casper are not up to it!
I'm not saying he's a great keeper and yes, him punching is a big flaw in his game, no question. The problem is that a keeper's mistakes are always woefully exposed, whereas El Abd's clumsy defending or Dunks arrogance and shabby passing are quickly forgotten because the are rarely so immediately punished.

Well, did we all enjoy that?

Glad I was at home with a selection of real ales. We looked pretty - but got SMASHED. I love the way we play but we just need to move the ball a bit quicker. Not lump it - just zipppppp the ball to each other. Oh, and... We need to find a keeper who can catch the ball. Not an overt dig at Pete, Casper or Gonzo - but it's a particularly British thing to catch first and punch second. Bank the money, learn the lessons and crush Hull!

I accept that Liverpool are a massive club. But Brezovan is still rubbish. He had a few good games and people started getting excited. He is League 1 standard at best.

He ballsed up at Leeds and got let off, he was to blame for flapping against Millwall and he was at fault for at least 3 of the goals tonight. I think that's enough chances.

Despite being part of a team that has won 6 of the last 7 league games and dumped Newcastle out of the cup?

He's a championship class keeper prone to the odd disastrous performance, and what is annoying is that he is his own worst enemy because he punches too often when he should catch.

Think it's time to see what Gonzales is like in goal. Can't be any worse than the other 2 jokers

Agree. Really can't understand why Gus has a keeper on the bench. Keepers dont get injured and any outfield payer could do just a good job between the sticks.

And he brought in a third keeper for what?

Edited your signature for you, Simster.

I feel like I could eat rubbish for a week (not rubbish food, actual rubbish-newspapers,sweet wrappers, orange peel etc), take a dump in my hands, hand it to Mr Poyet and in a couple of hours he would hand me back a dump.

Disappointing, fair play to Carroll, made a mockery of our defence today. Brezovan was nervy, but we all knew he was capable of a game like that? Still prefer him to Ankergren.

Bizarre that Poyet seemed to go for by bringing on Vicente and CMS at a point where it was time to shut up shop and get out with a respectable score.

Is POKE still on the books? or did we ship him off?

I love the way we play but we just need to move the ball a bit quicker.

You can a.) move the ball a bit quicker or b.) have the other side be a bit slower. In the Championship, more often than not, you can simply rely on b.) being the case. Not against a top-six or top-seven Premiership side.

There was an entire division --21 teams -- between the two sides today. What were the bookies' odds? 14-1? Bookies don't survive on sentiment.

Brez is going to be slaughtered on here in the coming week, and NSC will conveniently forget that he has been tremendous for us in the past month.

this

Would like to see a new GK in in the summer though.

Says the man who probably wouldn't even recognize him before today.

Thats a rather childish comment.

Brez has had 3 bad games to my mind, stoke, spurs and today. I don't expect him to be our keeper when we get to the premier league but he's been very good for us this season in the championship. Do you really disagree with that?

Billy f*cking Barndoor Paynter could have made a mockery of our defence today. What dunk was doing playing keepy uppy's on the line i will never know. It was like a audition for the Circus.
