We looked knackered second half against Orient and with games coming thick and fast, i'd take a draw tom night-should be around 1500 Saints up there but man u being on telly is bound to affect the attendance,

So if we win tomorrow and Scumhampton lose , will the FL have the League 1 Champions flag waiting for the photos at 10 to 5 on Saturday ?

Whats this about a guard of honour. Do they do that in League 1 ??

Not that I care. All I care about is promotion. All that matters.

We wont lose tomorrow. We had Lallana on the bench on Saturday just in case we needed him, and we didnt. Win tomorrow then beat Rovers on Saturday and it's over for me, especially if Hudders slip up at Charlton.

If it werent for the managerial changeover early in the season, both Saints and Brighton would be both miles clear battling it out for the top spot.

Always going to an excuse wasn't there ? Southampton fans do make me laugh.

I've been following with amusement the recurring theme on your board which suggests that the league only counts post Adkins.

We apologise, how rude of us not to start all over again after the South Coast Club "false start"...

Wrong but you cant complain with 2nd when we started so slowly. Not counting chickens but tomorrow night could be telling.

Lets see where we are a year from now. We are geared up to do well in the championship.

Makes no sense at all, wrong about what ?

Dusty Bin ? .. or the speed boat ? Still confused.

You made a similar prediction a while ago about a South Coast Club and Brighton's relative positions come end of the season. There was also your foresight regarding our season ticket sales.

Sorry, I'll stick to the old women with a packet of cards at the end of the pier. Compared to you she's Nostradamus.

If Saints don't go up it wont be long before the Liebherr family start looking at alternative investment vehicles

With money they've spent you'd get a better return on an ice cream van.

Your cockiness is at an all time high today. Well done.

What you seem to forget is that your success is down to unearthing a brilliant manager, and what you also forget is that he clearly has ambition and wants to manage at a much higher level. You've always got that hanging over you.

So lets see how cocky you are when that all goes wrong.

Gus Poyet wants to manage at a much higher level , true , he wants to manage us in the Championship and potentially the Premier League

If he does go, does the season start again ? ...or is that just down your way.

This seems to be the only thing you can hang on to, the fact that when we lose Poyet blah blah blah - and do you know what, it probably will happen next season BUT I am convinced Adkins will be gone before Poyet.

You're quite right in what you say, that Poyet is capable of taking on a club in the big-time. Adkins, on the other hand will never be in that position. He is a Division 2 [old money] manager through and through, and I'm pretty certain Cortese knows that.

As much as I admire our previous manager for what he did two years ago, Adkins is your Russell Slade.

Another excuse Saints fans used to why we are so far ahead of them, the blood managerial situaiton. Under Pardew didn't they have some poor results at the start of the season, including a 1-0 defeat at home to Plymouth and a pretty poor 1-1 home draw to Leyton Orient? At the end of the day they should be miles clear, the amount of money they have spent of players (Lambert and Fonte both £1 million), and remember Poyet saying Fonte is on what 4 of our centre halves are on in terms of weekly wage. We are on an 87 points with a hatfull of games left and we still don't get credit from them.

If you take 1500 to Rochdale on a Tuesday night then bloody well done. Fans like that deserve promotion.

still hope 'dale win though and make it "interesting"

thats because you havent played them yet.

Wow, because that makes sense? We are on 87 points NOW, and we have six games left, I think that does deserve a bit of credit? You can spend all the money you want on new players but you can't buy a team spirit, like the one Gus has installed here.

We, too, can have a legacy from our current setup.

Difference is, Gus has introuduced his style and it has spread through out the different levels of our club.

Cortese, has talked of the 'Southampton Style' (c) - Does he take training?

Im not sure we were tired. Orient came at us in the 2nd half but had no shots on target in the entire game, and Lallana was waiting should we have needed him.

Yeah thats right we have no team spirit do we. Thats why weve won 7 and drawn 1 from our last 8. Seen us play lately have you?? Didnt think so. Were on the up and you know it.
