I like Cologne a lot. Cross over the river and for a couple of Euros you can go up to the roof of their tallest building. Sometimes have bands playing on top too. It's an amazing view.

Agreed, great city. Ghent has its own Christmas market which starts on 8 December.

Agreed. Ghent is also the home of the Ghent Polyptch by the Van Eycks - well worth a viewing.
