I've seen interviews with him and he seems like a nice, genuine bloke, well funny on soccer am last season. He was on after writing off his sports car and the prostitute business in Turkey that meant he had to leave for Toulouse.

He is good mates with Robbie Carlos and was talking about how he is going was going to stay with him for the Rio carnival. I remember an interview on Sky Sports News and he was really humble about his meteroic and unlikely rise.

He was class in the last Euros for Turkey, didn't he hit the post in the quarters or semis with a cracking effort?

Anyone know how he is getting on this season?

Not bad - was sent off in the ECL, but has played for Turkey again I believe...

He was awful for us. All he did was whine and shoot from vast distances. Yes, he was in a poor, team and, yes he did score a few but fundamentally he was a poor usage of the Coca-Cola cash.

Fair play though, he has gone on to do rather well and I'm pleased for him but I REFUSE to acknowledge that he was of any real value to us until he was sold.

At least he doesn't say anything bad about us:

In 2005 when I was still only 18, I was signed on a 3-year contract to Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Championship - my first professional contract! A Brighton fan Aaron Berry (who became a family friend) won the transfer fee in a competition run by the drinks company so I got tagged 'Coca Cola Kid'. Although most of the reports will say of the difficult times I experienced there I still managed to score the club's 5,000th league goal and finish top goal scorer. It was my first season as a pro and I finished top scorer in a championship club...even though we were relegated I am very proud of this achievement.

The (2006/2007) season began in bizarre circumstances. I fell out with Mark McGhee, the Brighton manager at the time and decided two days before the opening game of the season at Rotherham to hand in a transfer request. I was told that I would not be allowed to play for the first team or reserves unless I withdrew my request. From the opening day of that season I only got to play in one further game, in the reserves against Crystal Palace on the 30th of August. Events that evening took an unexpected twist. I love playing football and was enjoying myself and thought I was playing well, when I was substituted 10 minutes into the second half. Dick Knight the chairman of Brighton at the time followed me into the dressing room and said "goodbye and good luck Colin, I've just sold you to Sheffield UTD". I then signed for English Premiership club Sheffield United on transfer deadline day August 31st 2006.

Playing for Toulouse now, I'm often in that area, I might take in a game one day and give you an update on how he's playing.
