Unfortunately I agree with you BoF. I'm not interested in what he does really, wether it was his or McGhee's fault I always got the feeling he didn't really want to be with us. Good luck to him but thats about it really.

He is a good player and I wish all the best but i feel that he never really gave us 100% each time he played.

Shame mcGhee couldn't get the best out of him.

He was treated badly by Mcghee, at one point that season he was 4th choice striker behind two midfielders that looked clueless up front.

"Roberto helped me a lot. When you’re young and people tell you things, you think, ‘Why is this guy telling me to do this?’ But when Roberto Carlos tells you to run back, you remember that he’s played 118 Champions League games, won three Champions Leagues, three World Cups - you go to his house and there are pictures of him with Pelé.”

Whilst I think McGhee didn't handle him at all well and effectively through away a huge talent (and transfer fee) it does seem a tad childish to only listen to peolple if they've been photographed with Pele.

The interview seems to confirm the view that he was well above his station and wasn't going to apply himself until he was at a club that he felt he deserved.

It's easy to blame McGhee for the Kazim-Richards situation but I don't think his attitude helped much. You also have to wonder what influence The Poison Dwarf (and MK Dons reserve) had on the issue as well.

kaz got a lot of bad press at the albion but i feel that he was a great guy and was treated badly whilst he was with us,whether mcghee or his fault, when i met the squad after the 5-1 defeat at reading (one of the best away displays by the fans, the ones that stayed till the end that is, after millwall in johnstones paint trophy, in my opinion) only 4 people stood out whilst i was getting their autographs, they were mcghee, because i said hello and when i said do you think we will stay up? and he literally turned to me and said 'we have to', fair enough we did but he said it without even looking at me and didnt seem to care i was a brighton fan and i had stayed till the end to meet the team, i lost respect for him that day, paul reid becuase he remembered me asking for his sock at the playoff final and spent time having a talk with me and genuinley was happy to see me and remembered my mate that got his boot, jakey, he stood with me and my mate waiting for his parents to pick him up (my friend now loves him and wants to marry him! bless her!) since that day i love jake and he does play well, especially when i saw him against orient, he changed the game and i think he will do a lot more for us if he gets the chance

and colin, as he walked to the coach i called for him and as he saw me he immediately put down his snazzy boots (the ones he had been told not to wear at the time) and bag, and came over to us, shook my hand, we had a chat and he seemed genuinely pleased to have fans wanting his autograph i got the feeling he was a good bloke and since then i have supported him even after he left us. i will probably get burned for this but kaz was/is a great guy and i am pleased he has done so well, and, as with (but not as much as he isn't as much of a legend) zamora i will follow his career and wish him well.

i apologise if i offend the nsc faithful and for my spelling as i havent been to bed yet after drinking after work but i like kaz and feel some of the abuse he gets is not warrented

I wouldn't abuse him, and wish him all the best.

I still think he was lazy when he was here though. In fact nobody who was there watching him at the games, could possibly deny that. In all honestly he was like any other petulant teenager, and behaved [on the field - I'm sure he's a lovely lad off it] like many petulant teenagers do when things don't go their way.

We all expect our teenage footballers to be fully grown, well-rounded individuals, devoid of all the character flaws that we ourselves were guilty of at the same age.

To be fair, he wasn't a bad player and I would certainly wish him well, however he shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath at BZ. I only saw CKR play a few times, and am probably not as well placed to comment as those who saw most of his games, my lasting impression was of a player who was a lazy twat and looked completely disinterested...as I mentioned, I only saw him play a few times and can only base my opinion on what I saw on the pitch. I don't doubt that he is a decent bloke, there are a fair few of them in football, I met the Stockport team a few years ago and they were a good bunch of lads...if he had tried a little harder when he played for us then my opinion might have been completely different.

lets be objective, CKR was/is a quality player who obviously had a problem with applying himself. McGhee saw his quality and wanted him, but obviously wasn't aware of this latter trait, or unable to deal with it.

That seems to be a perfect summary, one wonders if any other Albion manager might have been better able to handle him...my money would have been on Coppell, don't think that he would take crap from any player.

Really couldn't give a toss about CKR these days, one way or the other. He was a bit part player who moaned at his lot and then fortuitously got out.

I really really wish somebody else had been bought with that coke money.

I think that is what that annoys people, It was a waste of the money - You can get decent players for that amount.
