If championship sides aren't interested what makes you think a mid table la Liga team would want him?

No problem with him moving on if he wants to carry on playing for another season or two. He'll still be welcome back in some sort of role for us once he retires and I'm sure he'll come.

However, looking at La Ligu the top 3 sides had in excess of 88 points the next 4 down to Sevilla who had 52 then the next 12 teams dropping to the bottom side Levante with 32 and also Real Betis who finished in 10th had 45 so there is wide spread variation between the standards of the clubs in that league.


Barcelona Real and Atletico Madrid are way way in front of the rest. So a lower side like Eibar or Granada is not out of the question.

You are right that there is a gap between the top and bottom sides in La Liga, but the bottom teams are far from league one standard.
