I always say he's a credit to himself, I just nudge him along the way.

Funny you say about Dick's Bar though, I was thinking about going in there with me and young H before the Coventry game.

Are we allowed?

And he tells his old man off for the mildest of swearing :lolol:

I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion. My son and I aren't season ticket holders (we live in south Wales), but we do get to about half the games every season at home and away, and I've yet to see a club that caters better for the youngsters than ours. If your child is bored, then he/she simply isn't ready to attend, I'm sorry if that puts you out but there you go.

Cannot believe this thread.
Does any club in the country do as much for young supporters as us?
Free gifts every year, free shirts on 7th birthday, entertainment in front of family stand, season ticket for less than £50.
I have 2 kids who LOVE the AMEX (aged 8 and 10) - Can't believe anyone could possible have anything to complain about!!
To be fair it's only the OP who is complaining (backed up by RoTR, but as he's our resident village idiot he can be ignored). Everyone else has disagreed with her. And like Edna I DID laugh at the 'we got wet' bit.

I just have this mental image of Sally's Pigtails sat in her seat, looking up to the skies with an expression of utterly bewildered puzzlement on her face at this inexplicable wet stuff that seems to be falling all around her.

Why? WHY? WHY?

Fair enough - probably worded it badly. Just am astonished that anyone could possibly complain given all we do for kids!
Have only read about 1/2 this thread. Did we ever find out what was so great about Cardiff?? My kids went with us and didn't see anything child friendly apart from 2 games consoles (for 1000+ people) one of which was broken!
Also if anyone works out where rain comes from do let me know!!

Should be interesting when it starts snowing.

Can't be arsed to read the whole thread, but I notice the original poster raving about Cardiff. The only thing they do differently is have a Playstation on the concourse. I can only assume this is the only thing we need for the Amex Stadium to be better than the Cardiff City Stadium. Incidently, it was a hot, summers evening when we played Cardiff, there were no jugglers, facepaints, or any other sort of attractions outside the concourse either.

Me to and unsurprisingly it's a mixture of all the typical jumped up snotty Brighton tosspot, you've ever met.

Interesting that Pigtails has not returned. Perhaps she was hoping for a little more support..?

She needs to learn to say no, clearly and she needs to brief her children as to what is expected of the afternoon/evening.

I was delighted to attend football as a id, as it meant a day out with my father and/or an adult pursuit.

If one feels that a child is being lost to a PS3/XBox/PSP or what-have-you, then limit their use and don't let them watch Premiership teams on TV. Grow some stones.

Oh I suspect she has not returned as using her other season ticket to McDonalds for that staple kiddie diet.

I have to say the reply by Insider on this issue is spot on, the "Ask the Club" post that was left which I think was the same as the OP first post, was actually reported to us Mods, but we choose to leave it there as we felt it deserved a reply, a reply it got and a very good one in my opinion.

Can I also add, that whilst some clearly have strong opinions on this, please do not resort to direct abuse it really is not necessary.

I was a Junior Seagull once.

There was no face painting, kids food or Playstations when you were standing on the East Terrace of the Goldstone in the pissing rain.

For my subscription I think I got a birthday card signed by a rubbish player, my name in the programme on the nearest match to my birthday, plus an open day in the close season.

Amazing that I'm still here, frankly.

Exactly my point if brighton want to push on then lets include u18 fans cause you will die one day and you will need to be replaced

.......... so you didn't get your joining pack, 20% off in the club shop, Christmas party and Christmas Card? I'd go back and have a moan if I were you.

Part of the lead up to Falmer was the regeneration of the Seagulls Club. They stopped charging for it and must have shelled out a fortune in "goodies" for the kids last season (unwritten by Tony Bloom I understand). I don't think the organisation or focus has been as good as previously. We are now in a different era and, like it or not, everything Albion is going to be money orientated. It's no surprise that the "package" this season is inferior to previous years and my guess is that they will start charging like most other clubs do. Most clubs do a really good package for their juniors and I think we still have a bit to do to get where most parents would probably want to see.
Most of these kids will never get to see a match - either their parents aren't fans or they can't afford to take them to matches, or can't get tickets. The juniors club is their main link with the Albion. It is also ironic that they are no longer offered the discount in the club shop (that has been available for manay, many years) unless they have a Smart Card - err, no season ticket, no smart card, no discount.
The Albion have had greater priorities this season but I am sure they will be reviewing the junior package for next season.
As for the sweet stall - if people are mug enough to pay over the odds, it's all money in the Albion kitty.

the season ticket discount "perk" has now been removed
