especially given nobody really knows the facts.
You can be certain though, that the event(s) that led to a gross misconduct charge, and for that charge to make its way through three very heavily scrutinised and regulated levels of process, and for the result to stay the same, were serious and tangible enough for an individual to form a pretty negative view of the now ex-manager. Detail of the 'crime' is not required, the board would have been doubly sure of their ground to have pushed this through.
