its all fairly pointless. we live in a society where we must have 42" plasma TVs burning up a kilowatt of power (about the same as a small electric heater) but turning of the lights for one hour or not leaving the TV on standby, that'll save the planet dont even start on those little plug in air fresheners.

It is a lot easier to get everyone thinking that they're "doing their bit" by turning their lights out for an hour, than to get them to do anything slightly more worthwhile like leaving their car at home for the day isn't it?
