ok its old news from Argus the other day but i think its worth remembering how sh1te Yorkshire have been this past season on the sporting front and the success around our glorious county of Sussex.....

Champion Sussex Cricketers
Champion Basketball Brighton Bears as well as Cup Finalists and play off contenders and the country's only European entrants
Play Off Finalist Winners and Promoted Brighton & Hove Albion
Crawley FC in the conference, up as Champions also Cup winners
Lewes FC Promoted and in the conference South
Eastbourne Borough FC their high pos and a conference South place
Burgess Hill Town FC highest league pos in their history, narrowly miss promotion on last day of season
Great season for Lewes' rivals Worthing FC
A great season for Bognor Regis Town FC

if ive missed anything please add to this list and

the pleasure from being in the greatest county of this great country

As I drove over the Severn Bridge in an easterly direction for the second consecutive weekend my travelling (and walking in the Brecon Beacons) companion asked "are you proud to be English?"
I replied that I was but not only that, I was also proud to be from Sussex even though I haven't lived in the county for 26 years. He was incredulous, poor bugger, obviously not from a county that makes you proud.
GOSBTS played at the Millenium Stadium - hairs on the neck standing on end! Marvellous feelings.

i used to get pissed off that people see it a non county.

i have lived in yorkshire, great, the people are proud of the place, supported by the media, who always lick arse about the place and geordies.

Well everything these places have got, so have we.


We have great history, great towns, great countryside and great people with towns like Brighton, Lewes, having a unique culture.

Brighton and Suusex 'til I die.

Not so much in the last year but us lot at Worthing & District Harriers in 2000 we made it to the British Athletics League Cup Plate Final(For non british league teams) & finished 3rd.

Then the following season we were the Southern Mens League Division 1 Champions but missed out on promotion in the play-offs due to athletes leaving

I was born in Yorkshire but I've lived in Sussex for the past fifty years, so this is my adopted County. I love the place, I'm proud of all those sporting achievements and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
