Whilst looking through a list of terror attacks (see German attack thread) I came across this.

Never heard of it. Remarkable to think this happened in the 19th Century, 104 years before the next Irish related attack.

Blimey, anyone with a passing interest in British history should heard of that.

Another terrotist plot happened even earlier, in the early 17th century. Bloke called Guy Fawkes. And if you really want to go back, there was this bloke called Jesus who the Romans believed was a terrorist. All came to a most awful end!

104 years before the IRA bombing in Coventry in 1939 (five killed)? Arithmatic's a bit off there. . .

You should read Joseph Conrad's "The Secret Agent". Set in 1886 but based on the French anarchist Martial Bourdin who blew himself up in Greenwich by mistake. No-one knows what his bomb was supposed to destroy.
